Franklin County Christmas

The Town of Rocky Mount celebrates the Christmas Season in a multitude of venues and events. The season starts with the white lights campaign to decorate Uptown and Downtown to show the town at its very best in preparation for the holiday season. Retailers and business owners take pride and enjoyment in decorating their establishments with white lights for the delight of residents and visitors. Combined with the seasonal decorating by the Town of Rocky Mount, the whole effect creates the very best of "small town America"!

As we have for a number of years, the annual Courthouse Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony takes place on November25, 2011. County and town government officials open the ceremony and are followed by winners of the Christmas Card contest, children from the county schools, will be announced and the winner lights the Christmas Tree. The low-key event is cherished by the community residents.

The Downtown Christmas Celebration will be from 6 to 9pm on Friday December 2nd.  This is THE local event not to miss.

Pictures with Santa will be available from photography studios, and Franklin County Parks & Rec will offer, for a nominal fee, “Build An Animal”. The festival typically draws 4 thousand people and has been described as a “Norman Rockwell night”!
